Biorisk Management Training Program (BSL3) to Prepare Scientists from the National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) Prior to Joining the COVID-19 Screening Team.

22 March - 26 March 2020​

The BSL3 mobile laboratory located at the Malaysia Genome Institute, Bangi was moved to the National Public Health Laboratory, Sungai Buloh on March 29, 2020 to increase capacity of detection and assist in COVID-19 screening testing.

A 5 days Biorisk Management Training was organized by TIDREC from 22 March - 26 March 2020 at Wisma R&D, Universiti of Malaya. This training was attended by National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) scientists who work in laboratories, and sought to increase awareness of key concepts of biosafety and biosecurity in the workplace. The training also consists of an interactive group activities and hands-on practical sessions to better help the laboratory personnel to learn and practice ways of handling and managing the infectious agents safely and securely.
